The Florentine

The Florentine is a well-known English news source. The goal of the project was to update their online platforms, which were a bit old-fashioned, and collect enough data to improve their platforms user experience, highlight the brand identity.

New website development

The Florentine’s new website was created taking into consideration their digital users behavior as the goal was to design a familiar layout for them. The outcome is a modern, clean and user-friendly design, allowing easy access to articles, previous editions and subscription options. A new requirement was to integrate an e-commerce section to showcase subscriptions and single issues, along with the addition of a dashboard for managing user accounts.


The new website uses WordPress as CMS. Customized blocks in the Gutenberg editor allow the creation of articles suitable for different themes and sections of the website, ranging from simple news to videos and editorial long reads. We integrated the WooCommerce plugin for seamless management of the store and customer accounts, providing users with a comprehensive dashboard. They can edit their account information, manage downloads of purchases, renew active subscriptions and receive personalized offers based on their purchase history.
