The project

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Cosimo and Caterina de ‘Medici we have developed, according with MUS.E communication team, the logo and the advertise graphics for all the formats needed.

We designed the logo on Cosimo and Caterina’s silhouettes becoming the 0’s of the number 500, following the tradition of the time to portray upper class people inside cameos. We used the two portraits to delineate the lower profile of the C letter, then concluded above the head of both. We therefore came to define a final form that was representative of the two historical characters without being excessively complex, in accordance with the logo usage.

Colour and territory

The palette consists of shades of red and blue, to mark the two different souls embodied by Caterina and Cosimo in the Medici family: the one at the court of France (blu) and the Florentine one (red).

The client

MUS.E is a cultural organization which promotes the enhancement of the Florentine Civic Museums and the city of Florence.
It organizes cultural events, projects, exhibitions and workshops with the aim of guiding citizens and tourists through the artistic and cultural heritage of the city.
