The logo shape is based on one of the most recurring geometric figures in the Florentine art and architecture. The octagon is found in the base of Brunelleschi’s dome and the plan of the San Giovanni Baptistery. It also appears in the fountain that stands in the First Courtyard of Palazzo Vecchio, as well as in many panels adorning the ceiling of Salone dei Cinquecento. The chosen logo thus evokes a simple yet highly significant geometric shape for the history of this city and its Historic Center.
